Choosing Mesh For A Poultry Enclosure

A poultry fence needs an opening that fits the birds being enclosed. A roll that works around grown chickens may leave gaps large enough for chicks, so enclosure planning starts with the animals and the support frame rather than the fence length alone. We supply hexagonal wire mesh as a flexible twisted-wire material. The roll can follow posts, corners and timber frames, and its open weave keeps air moving through the pen.

Wire thickness affects how easily the material bends and how it responds during handling. Opening size determines which animals the barrier can contain. Material choice comes next. Galvanized steel wire offers zinc protection for ordinary outdoor exposure.

Stainless wire provides another option for damp areas or places that are cleaned regularly. Neither material turns a light woven fence into a heavy structural or security barrier. Plan the edges as carefully as the central mesh. Secure the roll to compatible supports, finish exposed cut ends and check gaps around doors and ground changes.

A correctly selected hexagonal wire mesh roll can then serve the enclosure without unnecessary patching. For a later extension, retain the opening, wire and roll specification so the added section corresponds to the original fence. This also keeps ordering clear when different pens require separate roll sizes and installation details. Retain accepted samples for later comparison.
