Determining the mesh size of a fence requires actual measurement using measuring tools, consulting product specifications, or comparing it with the intended use scenario. Mesh size directly affects protective performance, permeability, and applicability.
Direct Measurement Using Measuring Tools
The most accurate method is to measure the mesh size on-site using a steel tape measure or vernier calipers:
Measure the distance between the center points of two adjacent wires (i.e., the "hole spacing"). For example, a mesh size labeled "75×150mm" should be close to this value in the actual measurement.
For diamond or rhomboid holes, measure the inner diameter along the diagonal direction.
It is recommended to take measurements at multiple locations and average the results to reduce errors.
Check the manufacturer's technical parameters and specifications.
Legitimate products will clearly indicate the mesh size in the parameters. Common specifications include:
50×50mm: Used for building protection and fall prevention (compliant with GB5725-2009 standard);
75×75mm / 90×170mm: Commonly used for municipal fencing and residential area isolation, balancing visibility and safety;
100×100mm / 150×150mm: Suitable for slope reinforcement, orchard protection, and other large areas;
32×32mm: Specifically for sports venues, preventing balls from passing through.
